Australian Border Opening Allows Renewable Energy Projects to Come Back Online

It is no secret the constant changes to border restrictions made life tough for businesses who operate across Australia’s state borders.

After more than two years of opening and closing, the Western Australian Government in March 2022 finally decided that the borders will come down and likely stay down.

Moama’s microgrid project in NSW, kicked off at the end of 2019. As COVID restrictions increased, our team faced the complexity of travelling across the border to finish the job. There were a few attempts to travel to site, which resulted in last minute trip cancelations or staff needing to undergo 14 days of self-quarantine.

Well the good news is our team of engineers finally made it over to NSW this May and have been making up for lost time. The microgrid inverters are now interacting with the grid and the battery storage unit is up and running.

Western Australian businesses have been reunited with our clients on the other side of the country and that is a BIG win for all!
